During my stay at the Mekong Hotel in Thakhek, I found a couple of positive aspects worth mentioning. the housekeeping staff did a commendable job in keeping the rooms clean and tidy. The room was cleaned every day, and fresh towels were provided without fail. I was pleased to find that the hotel rooms were equipped with comfortable queen beds, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day of exploring the city.
The person manning the reception desk seemed rather grumpy and unwelcoming.

Big excellent value hotel with a peaceful and unbeatable location near the river and old town and good restaurants. Accommodating staff and the room large with fresh towels provided and fan, as for instance. Paid usd 55. Very pleasant stay, as always.

The guestrooms at Mekong Hotel in Thakhek were super comfy, ensuring a good night's sleep. My room had everything I needed, including free Wi-Fi, a desk to work at, and a mini bar for late-night cravings. The private bathroom was clean and equipped with free toiletries. Whether you prefer air conditioning or a fan, they've got you covered. And guess what? There's a TV and a refrigerator too!
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the air conditioning. But hey, that's just my opinion.

During my Christmas stay, I appreciated the affordable price and the spacious room. The fact that the room had a refrigerator was a convenient feature, allowing me to store snacks and drinks. Additionally, the location of the hotel was ideal, with easy access to key attractions and amenities in the area. It was great being able to explore the surroundings without much hassle.
There were a couple of negative aspects that affected my overall experience. the outdated furniture in the room was a bit off-putting, making the ambiance feel less welcoming.

The location of this hotel was absolutely incredible! We were just steps away from the stunning Mekong River and the view from our balcony was mind-blowing. We felt safe leaving our bags with them for three days while we did The Loop. While the bed was a bit hard, we were used to that type of mattress from our travels in Southeast Asia. The facilities were basic, but for the price we paid, we were more than happy, especially considering the jaw-dropping view of the Mekong River.

Great views and spacious rooms with beautiful views over the river. The staff are mostly friendly and the hotel is in a great location, just a short walk into town.
The hotel is in desperate need of renovations. The rooms are run down and the maintenance is poor.

The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located near the Mekong River, offering a great view from the balcony. the staff is friendly and helpful, making the overall stay pleasant.
There were some issues with cleanliness, such as a moist smell in the room and an unclean bathtub. The hotel also lacked proper hot water supply, as we didn't have hot showers when we arrived late at night.
